Distill Help Center

February Update 2025

It’s been a while since our last update, but we’ve been hard at work improving Distill! If you don’t want these (at most monthly) product updates, click here to unsubscribe here. Here’s what’s new:

Product Updates:

  • Lists: usability improvements like not allowing duplicate entries, better handling of unresolved emails, the ability to add profiles to lists while viewing them, and a new toggle between card and list views.
  • Profile Highlights Feedback: you can now give our AI direct feedback on your highlights to correct inaccuracies or provide editorial guidance (more info). Highlights citations now appear on hover as well, making it easier to see where the facts are from.
  • Profile Export: download any profile as a TXT file so you can upload it to your favorite LLM chat to ask questions against (more info). This also allows you to ask questions against multiple profiles at once (e.g., I have a panel, what questions should I ask the group?).
  • Easier Onboarding: perhaps not relevant if you’ve already set up Distill, but for new users they can now view a limited number of profiles before connecting LinkedIn.
  • AI-Powered Tags + New Header: our AI is now adding tags to identify vc funds, founders, angel investors, startup accelerators, and more. This will make our upcoming advanced search easier to use and tags will be extended to other upcoming use cases like investing, sales and recruiting. Tags appear in the header section, which now include social links and aliases. See our article on other profiles to learn more.
  • Onboarding and How Distill Works – We wrote out our help center and if you need a refresher on how Distill works or what it’s useful for, take a peek here.

What's Next?

  • Advanced Search: use AI to search for relevant Pre-Seed and Seed investors for your startup. Screenshot walkthrough here. You put in your startup blurb, and Distill shows you relevant investors as well as research on each saying why they are a fit (ie similar investments, relevant published articles, social media mentions, etc).
  • Collaborate on Lists: Invite other people to edit Distill lists with you in real time. You can build out lists of target investors, founders, candidates, prospects and any people or companies of interest. These lists are publicly sharable as well (more info).
  • Profile Design Refresh: we’ll be minimizing our emphasis on work history and showing more information about published articles, media mentions and summaries of other profiles. This should make profiles easier to scan for what matters most and then dig in where needed.
