Resolving profiles on a List
When building and managing Lists, you'll occasionally encounter entries that need a little extra attention. Profile resolution is the process of manually matching incomplete entries to corresponding Distill profiles. This ensures your data is complete, accurate, and ready for effective outreach.
Note: Adding LinkedIn profiles to a List will not require resolving. Adding emails to a List may require resolving and matching profiles.
Why Profile Resolution Matters
- Enrich your contact data with professional details
- Verify you're reaching the right person
- Personalize your outreach more effectively
- Maintain data quality across your lists
How to Identify Profiles That Need Resolution
Profiles requiring resolution are easy to spot. They appear highlighted in your list, indicating they're incomplete or unmatched. You'll find them consolidated in the "Confirm Profiles" section in the header and as highlighted entries on your List. We’ll let you know the total number of unresolved entries near the header.
How to resolve profiles
- Click on the unconfirmed profile or click on Confirm Entries to start resolving and matching profiles.
- Help us match the profile.
- Option 1: Search within Distill - Click on any unconfirmed entries and we’ll take you to search within Distill. Review the suggestions and select the profile that corresponds to your entry.
- Option 2: Provide a LinkedIn Profile (Recommended) - For the most accurate and comprehensive results, providing a LinkedIn profile URL is recommended. LinkedIn profiles typically contain verified professional information, including current job titles, company affiliations, and work history. By linking directly to a LinkedIn profile, you ensure the data pulled into your system is both current and reliable.
- Once confirmed, you’ll see that the profile has been updated with the profile you’ve selected
Marking Wrong Person or Company
If you made a mistake, you can mark them as incorrect and start over. You can repeat the process above.
- Click on the more options menu (⋮)
- Click on Mark as wrong person (or company)
- Use the process above to either look within Distill or provide us a LinkedIn URL of the person or company to help us match the profile.
