August Update 2025
We’ve been heads-down improving how you find and connect with the right people, and we’ve got some powerful new updates to share.
Product updates:
- Assessment Questions on Lists: It’s now possible to include Distill’s built-in assessment questions as columns in your lists. This makes it easier to evaluate or score each person or company directly from the list view, especially helpful when managing hiring, investment, or outreach workflows.
- Clickable Infographics on Teammate Network Analytics: When viewing a teammate’s network infographic, you can now click any segment (like “Founder” or “San Francisco”) to jump straight into their contact search with the right filters applied. This is also what someone sees when they join Distill via your network invite, making it easy for them to explore your contacts and start searching within specific slices right away. - Intro Path Column on Lists: You can now add a custom column to your lists that highlights selected intro paths. It’s a great way to keep track of who can help with future outreach or to share warm paths with your team. See video of how this works here.
- New “Find the Right Person” Chat on Company Profiles: We’ve launched a prototype of our entity research agent to help you identify the best contact at any company. It searches LinkedIn, the web, and Distill, checks if people still work there, and wraps everything up in a clean, easy-to-scan table. Give it a try on any company profile!
- “My Network” Now Included in Intro Paths: When viewing intro paths to a person or company, you’ll now see if anyone you’ve connected with on Distill (aka My Network) has a potential path in. This makes it even easier to spot warm intros through people you already trust.
- Social Graph Enhancements: We’ve started integrating a new relationship inference system. For example, people who co-founded the same company will now appear as connected, even if they’re not connected on LinkedIn. These inferred connections improve mutual match quality and enrich intro paths.
Upcoming priorities:
- Candidate searching: we will let you paste in a job description, search your wider network for candidates, give you scores for which are the best fit and show you what intro/reference paths you have to them. If you have a job posting you’d like to try this with, please let us know!
- Contact Syncing: Work is in progress to speed up syncing and expand coverage from sources like Google Contacts. When someone has 10k+ LinkedIn contacts, we need to be careful how fast we go through them which means it can take a few days. We’re going to lean more on a data vendor so we’re faster with the initial sync.
