How to Adjust Email Tone In Settings

Distill helps you send personalized outreach at scale, and the tone of your messages can make all the difference in getting responses. Here's how to customize the voice and style of your AI-generated emails.

How It Works

By default, Distill provides a founder tone for all AI-generated emails. This tone is professional, concise, and optimized for warm introductions and networking outreach.

However, you can adjust this tone to match your personal communication style by providing concise and concrete examples of the language and approach you prefer.

Customizing Your Email Tone

To adjust your email tone:

1. Navigate to your settings in Distill and scroll to the Email Tone section

2. In the tone customization field, add specific examples of phrases, styles, or approaches you want to use

3. The more specific your examples, the better Distill can match your voice

4. Click Save to apply your changes

Important: Leaving the tone field empty will maintain the default founder tone. Adding examples will modify it to match your preferences.

Resetting to Default

If you want to return to the original founder tone, click "Use Default Tone" and save your changes.

Where This Tone Applies

Your customized email tone will be used across multiple features in Distill, including:

• Request Intro emails from Intro Paths – Ask mutual connections for introductions while reviewing intro paths.

• Send AI-generated emails from Profiles – When looking at a person's profile, you can directly email them from within Distill.

• Campaign emails – When setting up and sending campaigns to multiple contacts.

By maintaining a consistent tone across all your outreach, you'll create a more authentic and effective networking experience.
