May Update 2025
As always, we continue to focus on improving profile quality - please don’t hesitate to bring items to our attention if anything ever looks off when viewing a profile. Here’s a roundup of what’s new:
Product Updates:
- Intro Pathways & Mutual Connection Analysis: The Mutual Connections section now shows how your other connections might know each other—like attending the same school, working at the same company, or sharing other background. Still a work in progress, so we’d love your feedback!
- Investor Search improvements: if you’re searching for investors, Advanced Search now has a simplified, step-by-step query builder to guide you through the process. We’ve revamped the entire process of searching for investors in the past month, so if this is a need for you, please let us know how we can support your search.
- Smarter profile loading: we’ve rebuilt profile loading for both people and companies to improve profile accuracy and the relevance of selected sources to improve differentiation (especially in tricky cases like multiple attorneys named Jeff Lewis). We are currently re-building our “authored media” sections - we may be the only place on the Internet that’s gathering that data in one place. We’ve also improved our de-duplicating for people and compnies created from different sources.
- List collaboration: You can now invite others to collaborate on your Lists. New Distill users will be prompted to onboard, and existing users will get immediate edit access. Once in, collaborators can edit and manage the List alongside you (unlike public links, which are view-only). Perfect for coordinating founder research, event planning, or investor tracking.
- List improvements: Shared Lists now support keyword filtering—even on public links. We also improved our handling of unconfirmed profiles, where the AI tries to find the right person based on email. We’ll show those profiles by default now on lists, but remember to take a look and correct any mistakes. In case you missed it, you can also export lists to CSV and add AI-powered assessment questions to ask about every item on a list.
- Dedicated investments page: Clicking “See All” under investments on a VC’s profile opens a full-page view with filters for industry, round, lead investor status, and more. It’s a faster way for founders to assess fit. Here’s an example.
- “For You” section – What you have in common: You’ll now see a new section on profiles highlighting shared background—like mutual connections, schools, or past companies. It’s a quick way to find common ground before a meeting or outreach.
